It’s summer, i’m not going to say that how deadmau5 foing to rock the stage.
Last month I went to bangkok, I walking alone inside the chatuchak market.
That was a huge place but full of narrow street and little tiny shop. I don’t know why and how I went to a little secret steet and I listen a familar song spread in my ear. It was “Young Blood” by The Naked and Famous. i was slow down my step and I walked into the shop, it was a dark, cold and a long hair with long beard man seating there. The intro started to play and I start to sang a first verse. “We’re all young and naive still… …We require certain skill… …” The song always remind me about UK Tv-series “Skins” and my teenager unwritten rebel life.
They are still one of my favorite bands. Im not surprise that why they knew about Naked & famous not just because the Thom Powers and Alisa Xayalith are amazing vocalist couple in the band but at the same time Alisa is a thai. At first I thought she are chinese.
The wall hang on tons of copies CD,
It’s so many indie bands and million cover over there.
His style just like a retirement rock star.
I pick up some CD.
One of them was “I Love You Dude” by Digitalism. I love the simple artwork on the cover. It’s a octagon black love with a white color background. It’s pure attractive for me. He played a “2 Hearts” track and both of us kept silence and enjoy the wave inside the shop. That’s was amazing experience between of music and human. We don’t know how to communication based on language even he know how to speak a simple english but who cares what language we are talking? music without boundaries.
2 Hearts have a little “xx” style when intro was play but the hook comes with a very fast electro rock house beep.
End up I bought 6 pieces of CD from the shop, next time I will introduce some favorites songs from the CD that I bought.
If you really want me to choose either Naked and Famous or Digitalism? N&F still my all time favoirte. I really mad love with them. I thought Im the only one who love the bands. Last autumn I still remember last year during the MIFW2011 in KL, Silas’s “Regnum Lapideum” S/S 2012 collection inspired by The Walking Dead, he choosen ”The Source” from The Naked and Famous for the runway music. Im happy that he used the bands song as his runway music.
